Privacy Policy

Last updated August 9, 2026

This policy explains what information Waypoint Research ("we", "us") collects when you use wpresearch.org (the "Site"), and how we use it. We built this site to be usable without creating an account, and we collect as little personal data as the site's operation allows.

Information we collect

Information you provide. The Site does not require account registration to read articles. If you contact us by email, we receive whatever information you include in that message.

Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure logs standard technical data for every request — IP address, browser/device information, the page requested, and timestamp — for security, abuse prevention, and reliability purposes. We do not currently run third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

Local storage, not cookies. The Site stores your theme (light/dark) and text-size preference in your browser's local storage. This stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and contains no personal information. It is not a tracking cookie.

The admin area used by Waypoint Research staff sets a single session cookie strictly to keep an authenticated editor logged in. This cookie is not set for ordinary site visitors and is not used for tracking.

How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Third-party services

The Site is hosted on infrastructure operated by our hosting provider, which processes technical request data as described above in order to serve the Site. We do not currently display third-party advertising. If we introduce advertising or analytics in the future, this policy will be updated first, and any such providers will only receive the minimum data necessary for that purpose.

Children's privacy

The Site is a general-audience news and research publication and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Because we collect very little personal data in the first place, most requests can be resolved simply by telling us what you'd like removed. Contact us using the details below to make a request.

International visitors

The Site is accessible globally. Information collected as described above may be processed in the jurisdiction where our hosting infrastructure is located, which may differ from your own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Site evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected here.
